This was an excellent place to stay! It was exactly as advertised, clean, easy to find, and very warm and welcoming. Our party of 5 was able to spread out between the house and apartment which was great. The house is located on a private street which we were able to walk in the evenings. The view from the front windows is gorgeous, especially in the fall. Very happy with our overall experience at this duplex and highly recommend it!

Amy's place was great very pet friendly.Our dogs had a great time.the place is homey and very nostalgic. very quiet and comfortable. I hope to stay there for future visits to Berlin.

We absolutely loved the nostalgic charm of this house, and the fact that it was dog-friendly made our stay even better! The home had all the amenities and essentials we needed—plus a few extras we had forgotten to bring ourselves. Everything was spotless and so well-kept. Such a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. We would definitely recommend and can’t wait to visit again!

This was our second stay at the retro retreat and we fall in love with it more and more!! The area is absolutely beautiful. The house is comfortable and not far from a beautiful walk, restaurants, multiple antique shops, Jericho mountain, hiking, swimming holes. Plenty of things to do outdoors. Amy is definitely accommodating and informative and gives you tons of information before your stay. We cannot wait to plan our next trip!!!

Great place! Beds were very comfortable. Fully stocked with coffee, paper towels, toilet paper and other essentials. Great outside area for our dog. Great host! We will definitely stay again!

Amy’s place was exactly what we needed. There was more than plenty of room for 3 women. Very close to active moose country, which is why were we there. Yard was also perfect for the dog. Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay very much! This house was squicky clean and spacious. It's very functional and had all the supplies we needed and more. Amy was proactive in communications. The instructions that she provided was very clear. We hardly had any questions during our stay. The location was very peaceful. The entire family, including our dog, had a great time!

This home is in a peaceful setting near a lake. Deer roam the area @ dawn & dusk. Great sunsets! The serene, spacious home is tastefully decorated & stocked with linens & essentials. We loved the AC since it was hot. Amy was very responsive to our questions & shared recommendations about places to go/things to do. So glad we stayed here instead of Bar Harbor. The merchants, lobster shacks, ice cream shops & general stores let us focus on the local flavors of Gouldsboro & its nearby towns. Acadia/Bar Harbor is a 30-40-minute drive. Other recommendations? Book a Robertson's sea cruise to see lighthouses & seals; have yummy breakfast @ The Paisley Loon (try the sugar waffles); go antiquing and thrifting; take pix @ Wild Blueberry Land & World's Largest Lobster Trap; eat/drink @ Casa Jalisco; go to Ellsworth for delicious cinnamon buns @ Sweet Spot; and enjoy Me & Ben's Dairy Creme (their blueberry ice cream has real fruit!). Hytta gets 2 thumbs up from us - 4 paws up from our dog.

Perfect for our group as we were traveling through. Loved that it was two separate spaces but together. Well equipped kitchen to make dinner so we didn’t have to go out after a long travel day.
